Rain likely across country for five days, heavy showers in some areas

Rainfall may continue across various regions of the country over the next five days due to the active monsoon. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in some areas during this period, with daytime temperatures possibly dropping slightly.

According to the forecast issued by meteorologist A K M Nazmul Haque on Saturday (August 1), the following weather pattern is expected:

August 2: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds may occur in many areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and in some areas of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions. Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in some places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. Day temperatures may drop slightly, while night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.

August 3: Rain is likely in many areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and in some areas of Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions. Moderately heavy rainfall is possible in some places. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.

August 4: Rain or thundershowers may occur in many areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions, and in some areas of Chattogram division. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in some places. Day temperatures may drop slightly.

August 5: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds are likely in many areas across all eight divisions. Moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some places. Both day and night temperatures may drop slightly.

August 6: The rain trend is expected to continue across most parts of the country, though the forecast suggests rainfall activity may decrease slightly towards the end of the five-day period.
