Rain likely in Sylhet-Chattogram
Bangladesh Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of rain in many places of Sylhet and Chattogram divisions of the country. At the same time, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind may occur at some places of Mymensingh and Barishal divisions and at one or two places of Rangpur, Dhaka and Khulna divisions.
This information has been given in the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 6pm on Friday. The forecast signed by meteorologist Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik said that the weather may remain mainly dry with temporarily partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country.
The Meteorological Department has informed that the extended part of the axis of monsoon wind is lying from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and the southern part of Bangladesh to Assam. The monsoon wind is less active over Bangladesh and remains in a weak to moderate state over the north Bay of Bengal.
On the other hand, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind may occur at some places of Rangpur, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places of Dhaka, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions in the next 24 hours from 6pm on Saturday. The weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country.
It has been said in the forecasts of both days that the day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country.
According to the information of the Meteorological Department, the highest rainfall in the country in the last 24 hours was recorded in Sreemangal, 51 millimetres. In the same period, the highest temperature was in Tangail and Jashore, 35.4 degrees Celsius. And the lowest temperature of 22.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Sylhet.
