Rain, thundershowers likely in several parts of country

Bangladesh Weather Observation Team (BWOT) has informed that due to favourable weather conditions there is a possibility of light to moderate rain as well as heavy rainfall with thunder in 37 districts and surrounding areas of the country. Rain in multiple spells with gusty winds may occur in various regions from Saturday night to Sunday noon.

According to BWOT’s forecast, there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms in various areas of the eastern, central and southern regions of the country between 10pm on Saturday (September 19) and 12pm on Sunday. Rainfall with intense thunderbolts may occur in one to three spells in some places.

The forecast said there is a possibility of rain in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Feni, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Chandpur, Cumilla, Brahmanbaria, Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Netrokona, Mymensingh and Kishoreganj.

In addition, gusty winds along with rain may blow in Narsingdi, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Dhaka, Munshiganj, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Gopalganj, Barishal, Patuakhali, Bhola, Jhalakathi, Pirojpur, Barguna, Bagerhat, Khulna, Satkhira, Narail and Jashore.

BWOT has informed that temporary heavy rainfall may occur in several areas of Chattogram, Sylhet and Barishal divisions as a favourable environment for rain has been created in the atmosphere. However, there is also a possibility of isolated light to moderate rainfall in other regions of the country.

Meanwhile, the spread of rain may increase in the northern region as well from after Sunday noon till night. The forecast has informed that there is a possibility of rainfall especially in several districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions.
