Record applications for SSC re-scrutiny, results on Sep 10

A record number of students have applied for re-scrutiny of answer scripts following the publication of the SSC and equivalent examination results this year. A total of 402,051 students from 11 education boards have applied for re-scrutiny. Since many students challenged scripts from multiple subjects, the total number of applications submitted stands at 1,287,926.

According to the education boards, the re-scrutiny results will be published on September 10. Although the high volume of applications has caused some concern among students and parents about whether the results will be announced on time, board officials have confirmed that the target is to publish them on the scheduled date.

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of Dhaka Education Board, said, "Our target is September 10. I hope students will get their results on that day. If there is any delay in publishing the results for any reason, they will also be given time to apply for Class XI admissions."

Board sources said applications for re-scrutiny of SSC and equivalent examination results began on August 11 and continued until the night of August 17. A total of 402,051 students applied across the 11 education boards during the designated period.

Of these, 1,056,455 applications were for written examinations, while 231,471 were for practical examinations. The total number of applications far exceeds the number of applicants because a student can apply for re-scrutiny in multiple subjects.

Board-wise, Dhaka Education Board received the highest number of applications, with 94,236 students submitting 277,665 applications for written and 58,012 for practical examinations.

Other boards also saw significant numbers: Cumilla (over 35,000), Rajshahi (over 39,000), Jessore (over 28,000), Chattogram (over 39,000), Barishal (over 17,000), Sylhet (over 20,000), Dinajpur (over 37,000), and Mymensingh (27,676) applicants applied for re-scrutiny. The Madrasa Education Board received over 40,000 applications, while the Technical Education Board received over 20,000 applications.
