A record number of applications for re-scrutiny of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination results has raised concerns among students and parents over whether all answer scripts can be properly reviewed within the stipulated timeframe.

According to data from the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, 402,051 students have applied for re-scrutiny this year. As many candidates sought reviews in multiple subjects, a total of 1,287,926 answer scripts have been submitted for scrutiny.

The volume is several times higher than in previous years, raising questions about whether such a large number of scripts can be reviewed thoroughly within the available time.

Jannatul, one of the applicants, said she was concerned that the unprecedented workload could affect the quality of the review and that her answer script might not receive adequate scrutiny.

The surge in applications has put additional pressure on the education boards, with students and parents now seeking assurance that every script will be examined properly and the re-scrutiny process completed on schedule.
