Responsibility of security of all citizens of Bangladesh is in your hands: Salman to Home Minister

Salman Muktadir, popular content creator, has told Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed that the responsibility of ensuring security of all citizens of Bangladesh is with the government.

He said this in a video message published on Facebook on Sunday after the attack and vandalism incident at his own studio.

Salman Muktadir said the responsibility of security of all citizens of the country—from the elderly to children, women to men—is with the home minister. At the same time ensuring security of people of all political parties is also the responsibility of the government.

In the video message Salman also raised questions about the statement given by the home minister that no case has been filed in the attack incident at his studio. He said you have said no case has been filed. You are noticing, you are a home minister. Every police station, every authority, every admin is under you. Under your one call, one button. You do not even know that case has been filed, this update is not with you.

Salman further said the reaction of the home minister after he raised the context of BNP and extortion has surprised him. Drawing the context of the minister’s smile he said the way you give a smirking smile, seeing this smirking smile I also feel like giving. See, I also get a smile, you also get a smile, we are similarly helpless.

Comparing his own condition with that of the home minister Salman said you also cannot do anything, I also could not do anything. You are also dismissing with a smile, I am also dismissing with a smile. This is the country, this is Bangladesh.

He further said you are also a citizen, I am also a citizen, we both are in completely helpless condition. See, who is the ruling government of this country now? BNP.

Demanding quick action rather than investigation from the home minister Salman said honourable home minister, you are forgetting that the question of every person of Bangladesh is not who is doing what. We have not come to you here for investigation, we have come for action.

Earlier while talking to journalists at the secretariat on Sunday Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said the vandalism incident at Salman Muktadir’s studio did not happen due to extortion. He said this vandalism has taken place centering on the dispute between two parties and grabbing-ungrabbing incident over about 35 katha land in Manikdi Namapara area of the capital.

The home minister said preliminary investigation has been done in this incident and more detailed investigation is needed. Police went to the scene after receiving phone call on number 999. Three persons have been arrested in the incident. He also said bullet shells and some local weapons have been recovered from the scene.
