Revised bus fare chart released
Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has released a revised fare chart for inter-district and long-distance bus routes, along with revised fares for Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan routes.
The move came after the government revised bus fares on April 23 following an increase in diesel prices. The detailed fare chart has ended the confusion over fares on long-distance routes.
The updated fare list for inter-district and long-distance routes, as well as Dhaka and Chattogram city routes was published on BTRC website on Saturday.
According to the chart, On the Dhaka (Sayedabad)-Chattogram route, fare has been fixed at Tk 704 for 51-seat buses and Tk 552 for 40-seat buses. On the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route, fares are Tk 900 and Tk 1,147 respectively.
On the Sayedabad-Sylhet route, fares are Tk 580 for 51-seat buses and Tk 740 for 40-seat buses. On the Sayedabad-Barishal route, fares are Tk 464 and Tk 592 respectively. On the Sayedabad-Khulna route, fares are Tk 541 and Tk 690 respectively.
On the longest route, Sayedabad-Teknaf, fares have been set at Tk 1,047 for 51-seat buses and Tk 1,335 for 40-seat buses.
On the Dhaka (Gabtoli)-Panchagarh route, fares are Tk 1,005 for 51-seat buses and Tk 1,281 for 40-seat buses. On the Gabtoli-Rangpur route, fares are Tk 751 and Tk 911 respectively. On the Gabtoli-Dinajpur route, fares are Tk 974 and Tk 1,241 respectively.
On the Gabtoli-Jhenaidah route, fares are Tk 501 and Tk 639 respectively. On the Gabtoli-Rajshahi route, fares are Tk 777 and Tk 991 respectively. On the Gabtoli-Meherpur route, fares are Tk 776 and Tk 981 respectively.
On the Dhaka (Mohakhali)-Mymensingh route, fares are Tk 294 for 51-seat buses and Tk 375 for 40-seat buses. On the Mohakhali-Jamalpur route, fares are Tk 386 and Tk 492 respectively.
On the Mohakhali-Sherpur route, fares are Tk 421 and Tk 537 respectively. On the Mohakhali-Kishoreganj route, fares are Tk 401 and Tk 511 respectively.
Earlier on April 18, the government revised fuel prices, increasing diesel to Tk 115 per litre from Tk 100, kerosene to Tk 130 from Tk 112, octane to Tk 140 from Tk 120, and petrol to Tk 135 from Tk 116.
Following the decision, a notification issued on April 23 revised fares, raising per-kilometre bus fares in Dhaka and Chattogram cities to Tk 2.53 from Tk 2.42 for 52-seat buses. Inter-district fares were set at Tk 2.23 per kilometre, up from Tk 2.12, while minibus fares in the DTC area were fixed at Tk 2.43 from Tk 2.32.
However, minimum fares remain unchanged at Tk 10 for buses and Tk 8 for minibuses.
