Rezaul Karim Badsha gets go for Bogura‑6 by‑election

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has nominated Rezaul Karim Badsha, president of the party’s Bogura district unit, as its candidate for the upcoming Bogura‑6 by-election.

The seat was vacated by BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Badsha, a former mayor of Bogura City Corporation, received his nomination today with the official signature of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, confirmed BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan.

Expressing gratitude, Badsha said, “This is definitely a very happy news for me. Bogura‑6 has always been the seat of the Zia family and a very prestigious seat. I thank the prime minister. With everyone’s prayers and support, I want to work to maintain the dignity of this seat.”

The by‑election is scheduled to take place on April 9.
