Rizvi denies BNP-Awami League collusion, calls for vigilance
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday denied any collusion between the BNP and the Awami League’s “henchmen,” urging party activists to remain alert against their activities.
Rizvi made the remarks after paying tribute at the grave of the late President Ziaur Rahman with newly elected leaders of the Pirojpur district BNP.
He criticised the interim government in New York, saying if it had acted effectively, the “henchmen of fascism” would not have dared to operate domestically or abroad. “Due to government inaction, their operatives are active both in the country and overseas,” Rizvi said.
He also slammed the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for failing to recover looted funds or bring perpetrators to justice. “The ACC remains largely invisible and functions arbitrarily,” he alleged.
Addressing rumors about BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul, Rizvi insisted that no attack took place in New York and dismissed all negative reports as baseless.
Rizvi urged party members to stay united and strengthen the BNP at the grassroots level to secure votes under the party symbol, the “Sheaf of Paddy.” He also described Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as a symbol of “fascist misrule” and warned that multiple conspiracies and master plans are underway, emphasizing that the blood of the July martyrs must not go in vain.
