Road management to be overhauled for next Eid: Transport Minister
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam announced plans to revamp Bangladesh’s road management system ahead of the next festival.
Speaking at the inauguration of a tree-planting programme in the capital's Purbachal on Wednesday morning (April 1), the minister noted that Eid al-Adha journeys are more challenging than those during Eid al-Fitr.
He also said authorities are assessing the feasibility of constructing a second Jamuna Bridge to ease travel to northern regions.
As part of the government’s five-year plan to plant 25 crore trees, over 3.5 million saplings will be planted under the initiative.
Rabiul Alam emphasised that the programme is a priority project aimed at making Bangladesh more livable.
