Rotten meat found in DU's cafeteria

Students have complained of finding rotten meat in Dhaka University's Kalabhavan cafeteria. They identified the meat when they went to the kitchen around 5:30pm on Thursday (April 30).

The cafeteria is located on the ground floor of the DUCSU building and is run under the supervision of the TSC director. DUCSU's Liberation War and Democratic Movement Affairs Secretary Fatima Tasnim Juma and executive member Belal Hossain Apu went to the cafeteria and found rotten meat kept for cooking for students.

Fatima Tasnim Juma said that due to suspicion, they went to the cafeteria and tested the meat and found it rotten. When the matter was reported to the cafeteria manager, he raised the opposite question.

Cafeteria cook Mohammad Selim said that after the rotten meat was detected, it was ordered to be discarded and new meat brought in. He also said that the refrigerator in the cafeteria has been broken for some time. Although the matter was reported to the authorities, it has not been resolved yet.
