JP split again
Rowshan chairman, Kazi Mamun new GS
Jatiya Party (Part) formed a new committee with Rowshan Ershad as chairman and Kazi Mamunur Rashid as general secretary, once again splitting into further factions.
JP Co-Chairman Kazi Firoz Rashid presided over the national council of the party held at the Engineering Institute in the capital on Saturday (March 9) afternoon.
The councilors and delegates present at the council raised their hands in support when a presidium member of the party announced the name of Rowshan Ershad as the chairman of the party, Later, Fakhruzzaman Jahangir, another presidium member of the party, announced the names of other senior leaders of the party.
At the council, Kazi Firoz Rashid was announced as executive chairman, Syed Abu Hossain Babla as senior co-chairman and Sahidur Rahman Tepa, Shafiqul Islam Sentu, Al Mahgir Shad Ershad, Golam Sarwar Milan and Sunil Shubo Roy as co-chairmen.
After the demise of the party’s founding chairman HM Ershad, his brother GM Quader headed the JP. However, disagreements with his sister-in-law recently took a sharp turn.
Kazi Firoz Rashid presided over the council in the presence of Rowshan Ershad. President of Krishak Sramik Janata Party Bangabir Quader Siddiqui, Secretary General of another faction of JP Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Chairman of Bangladesh Islamic Front MA Matin, Chairman of BLDP M Nazim Uddin Al Azad, and Assistant Ambassador of China Feng Xijia, among others, also attended the council as guests.
