Rupali Bank to suspend operations for 5 days
State-owned Rupali Bank PLC will remain closed for five days, from Friday, July 4 to Monday, July 8, as part of a planned data center transfer aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
The Bangladesh Bank's Department of Offsite Supervision (DOS) issued a notification on Tuesday (July 1) confirming the temporary suspension of all banking activities during this period.
The central bank has granted formal approval to Rupali Bank's request under Section 45 of the Banking Companies Act, 1991.
According to the notification, the move is intended to ensure the smooth and efficient transfer of the bank's data center, which is a critical component of its IT infrastructure.
Customers are advised to complete necessary transactions ahead of the suspension period and plan accordingly. Normal banking operations are expected to resume on Tuesday, July 9.
