Sakib is 'spoiled', but will get security if he returns: Information Adviser
Prime Minister's Information and Broadcasting Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman has described cricketer and former MP Sakib Al Hasan as a "rotten man." However, he said Sakib will be provided security if he returns to the country, and he will be given the opportunity to face the allegations against him according to the law.
He made these remarks at a regular press briefing at the Secretariat on Tuesday, August 11, to update on recent government activities, in response to questions from journalists.
On Sakib Al Hasan, the Information Adviser said, "He may be a good player. He is a rotten man who aligned with Hasina and still remains aligned with her."
He said Sakib will be provided security if he returns to the country. At the same time, he will have the opportunity to face the legal process regarding the allegations against him.
The Information Adviser also commented that regardless of who it is — Sakib Al Hasan or Sheikh Hasina — even the most serious offender's citizen and constitutional rights will be ensured.
Chief Information Officer Syed Abdal Ahmed and other concerned officials were present at the press briefing.
