Salahuddin Ahmed came to parliament in 1991, I was born in 1998: Hasnat Abdullah
Cumilla-4 constituency Member of Parliament Hasnat Abdullah has faced criticism in the parliamentary session for not addressing Salahuddin Ahmed as 'Home Minister' appropriately.
During a supplementary question in the National Parliament session on Monday, March 30, Hasnat Abdullah said, "When I ask Salahuddin sir a question, he often brings up the matter of giving notice, which makes us somewhat hesitant."
His remarks immediately drew objections in the house, and he faced criticism. The Speaker then brought the situation under control.
At that point, Hasnat said, "I came to parliament at the age of 27 and a half. The Home Minister came to parliament in 1991, and I was born in 1998. If there has been any conventional mistake in that regard, we are ready to correct it. Whenever notice is given, we will rectify it."
In response to Hasnat's remarks, Home Minister smiled and said, "This is part of parliamentary culture. Regardless of age, it is necessary to address each other appropriately as members of parliament."
He further said, "Coming to parliament at a young age is a matter of good fortune, and I wish everyone a bright future."
The minister also noted, "The generation born eight to ten years after the time we became MPs are even more fortunate, because before that, there was a period of military rule."
