Salary structure changed in new pay scale, how much increasing in which grade

Interest has been created over the new salary structure of government employees after the approval of the National Pay Scale 2026. In the new scale where the initial basic salary of the employees of the higher grades has been increased by 100 percent, the rate of increase is even more in the lower grades. Especially in the 20th grade the initial basic salary has increased from Tk 8,250 to Tk 20,000. As a result the salary has increased by 142 percent in this grade.

According to the new structure, the initial basic salary in the 1st grade has become double from Tk 78,000 to Tk 1,56,000. In the 2nd grade it has increased from Tk 66,000 to Tk 1,32,000 and in the 3rd grade it has been fixed from Tk 56,500 to Tk 1,13,000.

In the 4th grade the basic salary has increased from Tk 50,000 to Tk 1,00,000. In the 5th grade from Tk 43,000 to Tk 86,000, in the 6th grade from Tk 35,500 to Tk 71,000, in the 7th grade from Tk 29,000 to Tk 58,000 and in the 8th grade from Tk 23,000 to Tk 46,000 has been done. The initial basic salary of the 9th grade has increased from Tk 22,000 to Tk 44,000.

Besides, in the 10th grade it has increased from Tk 16,000 to Tk 32,000 and in the 11th grade from Tk 12,500 to Tk 25,000. That is, from the 1st to the 11th grade the initial basic salary has become almost or fully double.

The rate of salary increase is even more in the lower grades. In the 12th grade from Tk 11,300 to Tk 24,300, in the 13th grade from Tk 11,000 to Tk 24,000 and in the 14th grade from Tk 11,000 to Tk 24,000 has been done. The rate of increase in these grades is about 115, 118 and 130 percent respectively.

In the 15th grade from Tk 9,700 to Tk 23,500, in the 16th grade from Tk 9,300 to Tk 21,900, in the 17th grade from Tk 9,000 to Tk 21,400, in the 18th grade from Tk 8,800 to Tk 21,000 and in the 19th grade from Tk 8,500 to Tk 20,500 has been done. The rate of salary increase in these grades is between 135 and 141 percent.

The salary has increased at the highest rate in the 20th grade. The initial basic salary of this grade has been increased from Tk 8,250 to Tk 20,000. That is, it has increased by 142 percent. As a result although the initial salary of the employees of the higher grades has become double in the new salary structure the employees of the lower grades are getting the benefit of salary increase at a comparatively higher rate.
