Saleh Shibli appointed PM’s Press Secretary, Rumon as Additional Secretary

The government has appointed Abu Abdullah M. Saleh (Saleh Shibli) as Press Secretary to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, and Atiqur Rahman Ruman, editor and publisher of Dainik Dinkal, as Additional Press Secretary on a contractual basis.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications on Wednesday (February 18), confirming the appointments.

The notifications specify that both officials must resign from any other profession, business, or employment in government, semi-government, or private organisations. Their contracts are effective from the date of joining and will remain valid until the end of the Prime Minister’s term or until further instructions.

Saleh Shibli previously served as General Secretary of the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity and worked closely with Tarique Rahman in London on media-related responsibilities. He returned to Bangladesh on December 25 alongside the Prime Minister.

In related appointments, Md. Mehedul Islam has been named Private Secretary-2 to the Prime Minister, and Abdur Rahman Sani has been appointed Assistant Private Secretary-2, also on a contractual basis.
