SC declares general holiday on Feb 11-12
The Supreme Court has declared a general holiday in both the Appellate Division and the High Court Division on February 11 and 12, marking the 13th parliamentary election and referendum.
The announcement was made through a notification signed by Registrar General Muhammad Habibur Siddiqi on Tuesday.
The notification states that a two-day government holiday has been declared nationwide by executive order to facilitate voting by officials, employees and teachers of government, semi-government, autonomous and private institutions. With the approval of the chief justice, the Supreme Court will also observe a two-day general holiday on the same dates.
Earlier, the government announced holidays on February 11 and 12 across the country for the election, along with a special holiday on February 10 for workers in industrial areas.
