Schoolboy rescued within an hour of abduction on PM's initiative
A schoolboy was rescued from an under-construction building in Khilgaon within an hour of being kidnapped on Prime Minister's initiative.
The Prime Minister's Press Wing said that the father of the kidnapped student is Khandaker Shamim. He is an employee of the Secretariat. He reached the Prime Minister's Office in tears after receiving the news of his son's kidnapping. Upon receiving the news, the Prime Minister took immediate action and directly called the police and instructed the rescue operation.
The rescue operation was conducted by DC Masud Alam of Ramna Division of the Police. He said that the kidnapped boy is a ninth-grader at the National Laboratory Ideal School in Khilgaon. After leaving the school at 2:30 pm, four or five people took him to a seven-story under-construction building in Jorpukur area. There, he was beaten up and a ransom of Tk 50,000 was demanded, otherwise he was threatened with death.
DC Masud Alam said that the police first started communicating with the kidnappers by promising to send money. During the bargaining over the ransom money, the police identified the location of the kidnappers. Then the boy was rescued in a raid. However, the kidnappers fled after sensing the presence of the police.
