Scrutiny of nominations for reserved women's seats today

The verification and scrutiny of nomination papers for the reserved women’s seats in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad begin today (April 22).

According to a press release issued by the Election Commission (EC) Secretariat, the two-day screening process will continue through Thursday at the Election Building auditorium in the capital's Agargaon.

As per the announced schedule, candidates will be able to file appeals against the scrutiny decisions until April 26. The EC will dispose of appeals on April 27 and 28, while April 29 has been set as the final date for withdrawal of candidature.

If all procedures proceed as planned, voting for the reserved women’s seats is scheduled to be held on May 12.

Election officials said the scrutiny aims to ensure compliance with legal requirements and maintain transparency in the nomination process.
