Section 144 has been imposed in the area surrounding the Chief Adviser's official residence, Jamuna. The DMP Commissioner confirmed this information on Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, six platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in the capital following the incident. BGB stated in a release that six platoons have been deployed in the Kakrail Mosque and Hotel Intercontinental area to ensure the security of the state building, Jamuna.

It is worth noting that there have been repeated clashes between police and government employees agitating in the capital for the publication and implementation of the 9th national pay scale gazette.

Clashes occurred on the road leading to the Chief Adviser's residence, Jamuna, starting after 11:30 am today (Friday). The clashes erupted, subsided, and then resumed. To control the situation, police used tear gas, water cannons, and sound grenades. Amid the tense situation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Sazzad Ali rushed to the scene.

Earlier in the morning, government employees from various ministries and departments had gathered at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka, demanding the publication and immediate implementation of the 9th pay scale gazette. After a brief rally there, they began marching towards the Chief Adviser's official residence, Jamuna.

Subsequently, around 11 am, when the procession reached the road beside Hotel Intercontinental, police set up barricades. When the protesters attempted to break through the barricades and advance, police prevented them. This led to pushing and shoving between the two sides, which later escalated into clashes.
