Selina Hayat Ivy granted bail

The High Court has granted bail to former Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy in five separate cases.

The High Court bench comprising Justice KM Zahid Sarwar and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher passed the order.

Out of the five cases, she was shown arrested in four. These cases are the murder of bus driver Abul Hossain Miji, the murder of Abdur Rahman, the murder of Md. Yasin and the murder of Parvez filed with Fatulla Police Station.

In addition, another case has been filed with Sadar Model Police Station on charges of assault and obstruction of government work.

Senior advocates Sara Hossain and Motahar Hossain Saju participated in the hearing for the accused.

Ivy was arrested from Chunka Kutir in the city's Deobhog area at around 3 am on May 9 last year. Later, she was shown arrested in various cases. Although the High Court had previously granted her bail in five cases, it was stayed by the Appellate Division.

It is reported that she was then arrested in five more cases on November 18.
