The cabinet has been formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, consisting of 25 ministers and 24 state ministers.
Many first-time MPs have been selected. However, several senior BNP leaders did not get a place in the new cabinet.
The swearing-in ceremony of the prime minister, ministers and state ministers was held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Tuesday (February 17) afternoon.
The senior BNP leaders who did not get a place in the cabinet include party standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Abdul Moin Khan, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Nazrul Islam Khan, Selima Rahman, Amanullah Aman, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu.
Among these leaders, except Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Nazrul Islam Khan and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the rest previously held important ministerial positions in the BNP government.
