Service to humanity will inspire future generations: Speaker

The values of social responsibility and service to humanity will inspire future generations, Speaker of the National Parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmed has said. He stated that humanitarian activities can become a powerful force for positive change in society, rather than remaining confined within limited circles of individuals or organisations.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at an event of the Lions Clubs International at a hotel in the capital on Saturday, June 13 .

The Speaker said such conventions are not merely formalities but an important platform to make the ideals of service more organised, robust and dynamic. In his view, social service organisations play a vital role in establishing humanitarian values in society .

He further said such events generate new leadership, planning and enthusiasm, which will further expand humanitarian activities in the future. He expressed hope that this initiative will be able to open new horizons in society .

Leaders and members of Lions Clubs from various parts of the country, distinguished guests and media personnel were present at the event. They exchanged views on further accelerating the organisation's future activities in social development and humanitarian service .

The Speaker concluded by wishing the convention every success and urged everyone to play a more active role in humanitarian service activities .
