Seven colleges students threaten tough action if ordinance not issued by Sep 22
Students of the seven colleges have issued a stern warning, demanding the government to issue an ordinance making the seven colleges a central university by next Monday, September 22. Failure to do so will result in a strict protest program, they said at a press conference held in front of Dhaka College’s Shaheed Minar on Thursday.
The students raised various slogans in support of the move to convert the seven colleges into a central university, emphasizing that the existing issues can only be resolved through the issuance of this ordinance.
During the press briefing, students criticized certain teachers, accusing them of obstructing efforts to resolve the colleges’ problems. “Teachers who have not stood by the students since 2017 are now trying to hinder progress,” the students said.
They further stressed that no final solution would be possible without the ordinance.
The students also alleged that they are facing threats of having their exam results lowered if they participate in the movement.
