Seven journalists honoured with Agro-Industry Media Award 2025

Seven journalists from various media outlets have received the Bangladesh Agro-Industry Media Award-2025 in recognition of their special reports on the country's agriculture and agro-processing sector.

The award ceremony was held at the MCCCI conference room in Gulshan, capital, on Saturday, June 6.

In the print category, the award recipients are Sukanta Halder of The Daily Star, Rafiqul Islam and M Munir Hossain of The Daily Sun. In the television category, Delawar Hossain Dolon of Channel 24 and Rakib Hossain of Ekattor TV received the award. In the online category, Nazmul Hossain of Jagonews24.com and Shariful Rukn of Ekushey Patrika Dot Com were recognised.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon handed over the awards to the winners. National Press Club President Hasan Hafiz was present as a special guest. PRAN Group Managing Director Elias Mridha and PRAN-RFL Group Marketing Director Kamruzzaman Kamal were also present.

PRAN Group, a leading organisation in the country's agro-processing industry, introduced the Bangladesh Agro-Industry Media Award for the first time to honour journalists contributing to the agriculture and agro-processing sector.

A three-member jury board evaluated special reports published in the print, television and online categories in 2025 and selected the seven best journalists. The jury members were Professor Robayet Ferdous of Dhaka University's Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Khurshid Ahmed Farhad, General Manager of Bombay Sweets and Company Limited, and Mohammad Touhidul Islam, Outreach and Communication Director of Transparency International Bangladesh.
