Shahnewaz Parvez appointed as MD of Titas Gas

The government has appointed Shahnewaz Parvez as the permanent Managing Director (MD) of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC (TGTD PLC). Until now, he had been serving as the acting Managing Director of the company.

This information was announced in an official order issued by Petrobangla on Monday (May 19).

According to the order, the appointment was finalized on May 17 based on the decision of the 608th meeting of the Petrobangla Board of Directors and the recommendation of the Superior Selection Committee. Under this decision, Shahnewaz Parvez, who was serving as a General Manager in the technical cadre of Petrobangla, has been promoted and appointed as the Managing Director of Titas Gas.

The order also stated that he will remain in this position until further notice.

Earlier, while serving as the MD of GTCL (Gas Transmission Company Limited), Shahnewaz Parvez was temporarily appointed as the acting Managing Director of Titas Gas on September 9, 2023. At that time, the appointment was stated to be temporary and would not have any lasting effect on his promotion or seniority. It was also mentioned that if someone else was later appointed, transferred, or promoted to this position, he would return to his previous role.

However, this time he has been appointed as the full-time Managing Director, marking a significant change in his official rank compared to his previous acting role. Under the new appointment, he will receive a salary according to Grade-2 (Tk. 66,000–76,590), whereas previously he was under Grade-3 (Tk. 56,500–74,400).
