Shawwal moon not sighted, Eid-ul-Fitr on March 21
As the moon of the holy month of Shawwal was not sighted anywhere in the country, this year's 30 days of Ramadan are being completed. As a result, Muslims in the country will celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr Saturday (March 21).
This information was given at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation located at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital on Thursday (March 19) evening. The meeting was presided over by Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad.
The meeting decided that as the moon of the month of Shawwal was not sighted anywhere in the country, the 30th day of Ramadan will be completed on Friday and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated the next day.
