Shilpakala Academy gets new DG

Abul Faiz Md. Alauddin Khan has been appointed as the new Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. He assumed his duties on Tuesday afternoon and held a meeting with the academy’s officers and staff on his first working day.

The appointment was confirmed by Mahmudul Haque Jihad, Public Relations Officer (additional charge) of the academy.

Before this role, Khan served as Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

Earlier this year, Professor Syed Jamil Ahmed took charge as Director General but stepped down after a few months. Since then, Secretary Wares Hossain had been acting as the interim Director General.
