Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has confirmed that shooter Faisal Karim Masud and his accomplice, motorcyclist Alamgir Sheikh, involved in the murder of Inqilab Mancha Spokesperson Osman Hadi, have fled to India via the Haluaghat border in Mymensingh.

The information was disclosed at a press conference held at the DMP Media Center at 11:30am on Sunday (December 28).

DMP Additional Commissioner SN Najrul Islam said, “Faisal and Alamgir have crossed into India through Haluaghat in Mymensingh. We have contacted Meghalaya police, who have arrested two individuals, Purti and Sami, for allegedly assisting them in Meghalaya.”

He added that the investigation into the Hadi murder case is in its final stage, and the charge sheet is expected to be submitted to the court within 7 to 10 days. So far, 11 individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. Two pistols, 52 rounds of ammunition, and the motorcycle used in the crime have been recovered.

The police official also revealed that Faisal owns three IT firms, and 218 crore taka in 53 accounts linked to these firms have been seized.

Responding to journalists, SN Najrul Islam noted that those affected in the August 5 incident last year may have been behind the killing, and political motives cannot be ruled out.
