Shots have been fired at the election office of National Citizen Party NCP convener Nahid Islam in the Badda area of the capital.The incident occurred on Tuesday night, January 13. The new Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Badda Police Station confirmed the matter. He stated that two rounds were fired on Tuesday night, January 13, after failing to receive an extortion payment. The convener of the NCP stated that the shooting at the election office is not politically motivated. Nahid Islam said there is no political affiliation with the incident.

রাজধানীর বাড্ডা এলাকায় জাতীয় নাগরিক পার্টির (এনসিপি) আহ্বায়ক নাহিদ ইসলামের নির্বাচনী অফিসে গুলির ঘটনা ঘটেছে। মঙ্গলবার (১৩ জানুয়ারি) রাতে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) বাড্ডা থানার নতুন অফিসার ইনচার্জ (ওসি) বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি জানান, মঙ্গলবার (১৩ জানুয়ারি) রাতে চাঁদা না পেয়ে দুই রাউন্ড গুলি করেছে দুর্বৃত্তরা। নির্বাচনী অফিসে গুলির ঘটনা রাজনৈতিক নয় বলে জানিয়েছেন এনসিপির আহ্বায়ক। নাহিদ ইসলাম বলেন, এরসঙ্গে কোনো রাজনৈতিক সংশ্লিষ্টতা নেই।
