Shruti Paul is a second-year B.Ed student at Feni Teachers and Training Institute. She is the daughter of Titu Pal, a homeopath from Agrabad area of Chattogram city.

On Sunday (June 7) afternoon, her friends Tanvir Hossain, Ashraf Uddin and Risbi Sultana, who were with her, claimed that Shruti was injured after being hit by an unknown truck in the North Bypass area of Mirsarai Municipal area. It is learnt that a young man named Tanvir Hossain was injured during the incident.

They claimed that on Sunday afternoon, Shruti was going from Feni to the Mirsarai Special Economic Zone with her friends Tanvir Hossain, Ashraf Uddin and Risbi Sultana on a motorcycle. On the way, when they reached the North Bypass area of Mirsarai Municipal Sadar, a truck hit the motorcycle carrying Tanvir and Shruti. Shruti and Tanvir were injured after they fell on the road. Locals rescued them and took them to Mirsarai Seba Adhunik Hospital. However, when Shruti's condition deteriorated, her friend Tanvir took her to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. The doctor on duty there declared her dead.

In this regard, Dr. Shuvo, a doctor at Mirsarai Seba Adhunik Hospital, said that two people injured in the road accident were brought to the hospital. Among them, Shruti Paul's condition was critical and she was sent to Chattogram Medical College (CMCH) Hospital.

Meanwhile, the deceased's father Titu Paul alleged that this was not just a road accident; his daughter was killed in a planned manner. He said, "Since the incident, Shruti's friend Rishbi Sultana has been avoiding us. Besides, Tanvir's statement also seem incoherent. We will take legal action to uncover the real incident through a fair investigation."

In this regard, Mirsarai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Farida Yasmin said that if a complaint is received from the family, necessary legal action will be taken subject to investigation. Currently, an investigation is underway to uncover whether the incident was a road accident or a planned murder.
