Sirajganj's Nila Khatun fulfills dream, becomes assistant teacher

Nila Khatun of Sirajganj, who had drawn attention by passing the Kamil (Master's equivalent) examination writing with her feet without hands, has now been appointed as an assistant teacher. She will serve at the Special School for Children with Disabilities, an institution for children with special needs.

She was informed of her appointment on Sunday (July 26) when she was called to the Bangladesh Secretariat.

It is known that the initiative was implemented under the supervision of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku and Social Welfare Minister J M Zahid Hasan.

Nila, a resident of the Char Bardhul village in Kamarkhanda upazila of Sirajganj, was born without hands. Overcoming her physical limitations, she learned to write with her feet and completed all levels of her education. Recently, after passing the Kamil examination, she had expressed her dream of becoming a teacher through the media.

Upon receiving the news of her job, Nila and her family were overjoyed. They expressed gratitude to all those who helped fulfill her long-cherished dream.

Present on the occasion were the Power Minister's Personal Officer Abdul Al Kayes, Kamarkhanda Upazila Chhatra Dal Member Secretary Md Tanvir Islam and others.
