Six committees formed to oversee presidential oath-taking ceremony

The Cabinet Division has formed six committees to ensure the smooth organisation and management of the new president's oath-taking ceremony. An office order was issued in this regard on Sunday, August 9.

The office order said the Election Commission announced the schedule for the presidential election on August 6. After the election, the oath-taking ceremony of the new president will be held on the designated day, date, time and venue with the Prime Minister's approval. The committees have been formed to ensure the ceremony is organised with due dignity, smoothly and successfully.

Among the committees formed, a coordination committee has been set up under the leadership of Farah Shammy, Secretary (Coordination and Reform) of the Cabinet Division.

A Documentation and Record Preservation Committee, as well as a Guest List Formulation and Invitation Printing Committee, have been formed under the leadership of Md Shamim Sohel, Additional Secretary of the Administration and Rules Sub-division.

An Invitation Distribution and Receipt Verification Committee has been formed under the leadership of Mohammad Khaled Hasan, Additional Secretary of the Coordination Sub-division.

A Seating Management Committee has been formed under the leadership of Md Humayun Kabir, Additional Secretary of the Committee and Economic Sub-division. A Reception Committee has been formed under the leadership of Yasmin Begum, Additional Secretary of the Law Sub-division.

The office order stated that these committees may include additional officers and employees as needed. The committees will hold meetings and adopt work plans after receiving the order.

The conveners of the committees will regularly inform the Secretary (Coordination and Reform) of the Cabinet Division about their activities and seek necessary guidance.

According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission, voting for the presidential election will be held on August 20.
