Six DIGs, three SPs transferred in police reshuffle

The government has transferred six Deputy Inspector General (DIG) rank officers and three Superintendent of Police (SP) rank officers in a major police administration reshuffle. Separate notifications were issued from the Police-1 branch of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday, July 5.

According to the notifications, Special Branch (SB) DIG Md Iqbal Hossain has been made DIG of Dhaka Range. Barishal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Ashik Saeed has been made DIG of Rajshahi Range. Police Headquarters DIG Raihan Muhammad Saleh has been appointed Commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan Police.

Additionally, Rajshahi Range DIG Mohammad Shahjahan has been transferred to Armed Police Battalion (APBn). Khulna Range DIG Md Rezaul Haque has been made DIG of Industrial Police. Barishal Range DIG Md Mostafizur Rahman has been transferred as the new DIG of Khulna Range.

In another notification, CID Superintendent of Police Mohammad Badrul Alam Molla has been made SP of Jhalakathi. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Shahriar Mohammad Miaji has been made SP of Faridpur. Faridpur SP Nazrul Islam has been transferred as SP of CID.

The orders, issued in the public interest, take immediate effect.
