Testimony against Sheikh Hasina underway for 6th day at ICT

The sixth day of testimony in the case against Sheikh Hasina and three others, including former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, is underway from this morning (August 20) at the International Crimes Tribunal-1.

The case concerns alleged crimes against humanity committed during the July Mass Movement. The judicial panel is led by Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumdar.

On the fifth day of testimony on August 18, three witnesses gave statements: Md. Enab Najez Zaki, father of the deceased As-Sabur; Robiul Awal, brother of the deceased Imam Hasan Taim; and eyewitness Jashim Uddin from Rajshahi. They were cross-examined by state-appointed lawyer Md. Amir Hossain, representing Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

Prosecutors Mizanul Islam and Gazi MH Tamim presented evidence on behalf of the prosecution.

Former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, also an accused, has admitted responsibility and is now a public witness. To date, 12 witnesses have testified in the case.
