Solar plants to be installed at all educational institutions: Minister

Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has announced that solar plants will be installed at all educational institutions across the country.

“The government will not compromise on education. We have set a target of generating 2,000 megawatts of solar power by 2030,” the education minister said on Wednesday (May 13).

He made the remarks at a signing ceremony on solar plant installations between Dhaka Residential Model College and Omera.

The minister also said the government has taken plans to remove delays in the education sector.

“Initiatives are being taken to complete the SSC examination within 10 years of schooling and the HSC examination within 12 years,” he said.

Milon said a meeting would be held later in the day to discuss how SSC and HSC examinations could be conducted on time without wasting time while ensuring completion of the syllabus.

The education minister also said the government is prioritising education to develop productive human resources in the country.
