SP Apple Mahmud suspended over misconduct

Superintendent of police and supernumerary additional deputy inspector general Md Apple Mahmud has been suspended from service on charges of misconduct.

The Public Security Division of the home ministry issued a gazette notification regarding this on Wednesday.

According to the notification, a departmental case has been initiated against Apple Mahmud, a former SP of the Tourist Police’s Cox’s Bazar region, under Rule 3(b) of the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018.

The authorities considered it appropriate to suspend him from service under Rule 12(1) of the same rules, the notification said.

During his suspension, Apple Mahmud will remain attached to the office of the deputy inspector general of police of Rajshahi Range and receive a subsistence allowance in accordance with the rules.
