Speaker leaves for Qatar to offer condolences on former emir's death
Speaker of the National Parliament, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram, has left Dhaka for Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday morning, July 14.
He departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:20 am.
During the visit, the speaker will hold a courtesy meeting with Qatar's current Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
He will also convey deep condolences from the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh to the royal family and the people of Qatar over the death of former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, widely regarded as the architect of modern Qatar.
