Special arrangements in place for women at Khaleda Zia’s janaza

Authorities have made special arrangements to enable women to attend the namaz-e-janaza (funeral prayers) of former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, according to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

In a statement posted on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday (December 31), Mirza Fakhrul said the interim government has taken necessary measures to ensure orderly participation by mourners from all walks of life.

He said separate areas have been designated for women at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban and along Manik Mia Avenue to allow them to participate in a safe and disciplined environment. The arrangements were communicated by the Chief Adviser’s Office, he added.

The namaz-e-janaza of Begum Khaleda Zia will be held after Zuhr prayers at 2:00pm on Wednesday. For security reasons, attendees have been advised not to carry bags.
