Special discounts on hotel, air tickets for July fighters
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam has announced a 36 percent discount at Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation hotels for the injured fighters of the July mass uprising. She also stated that initiatives will be taken to create employment opportunities for them and provide special discounts on Biman Bangladesh Airlines tickets.
The minister made these remarks while addressing the gathering as the chief guest at a reception and discussion program held for July injured fighters at the Parjatan Bhaban in Agargaon, capital on Tuesday. The event was organized by the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation in observance of July Mass Uprising Day.
Afroza Khanam said that the martyrs and injured fighters of the July mass uprising are courageous partners in a unique chapter of national history. She emphasized that they should not merely be remembered formally, but rather that their dreams and aspirations must be embraced to build a humane, discrimination-free, and dignified Bangladesh.
She noted that honoring the families of martyrs and standing by the injured fighters is a moral and constitutional responsibility of the state. Highlighting the enduring pain of losing a child, the minister paid deep tribute to the contributions of the July warriors.
The minister stressed the importance of making the tourism sector more inclusive, people-friendly, safe, and sustainable. According to her, the tourism sector can play a vital role in realizing the country's economic potential, generating employment, and fostering national unity and cultural harmony.
During the program, the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation handed over prize bonds and crests of honor to the family members of five martyrs of the July mass uprising and five injured July fighters.
