Special opportunity for absent HSC examinees: Education Minister
The government has announced a special opportunity for students who could not participate in the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations on scheduled days due to adverse weather or unavoidable circumstances. These examinees will be able to take the examinations using identical question papers of the same subjects that have been postponed under the Chattogram Education Board, on the date and time determined by the Education Ministry .
Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon made this announcement in a statement under Rule 300 in the Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday (July 15) .
The minister said a total of 12,70,583 examinees are participating in the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations-2026 at 2,697 centres across the country. Due to recent heavy rainfall and floods, examinations under the Chattogram Education Board in Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Khagrachhari, Rangamati and Bandarban have been postponed. Additionally, some examinees in various parts of the country could not sit for their scheduled examinations due to inclement weather and other unavoidable reasons .
He said this special measure has been taken considering that no student should be disadvantaged in this crucial examination. The absent examinees will be able to participate in the examinations using identical question papers for the relevant subjects that have been postponed, on the same date and time determined by the Education Ministry .
The Education Minister further informed that those responsible for errors in questions 6 and 7 of the Physics first paper have been temporarily suspended. All examinees will be awarded full marks for those two questions. Therefore, no student will be disadvantaged in this regard .
He said the government has taken all necessary measures to ensure the examinations are conducted in a fair, impartial and student-friendly environment. At the same time, necessary steps are being taken to safeguard the interests of examinees in disaster-affected areas .
