Special parliamentary committee to oversee 133 interim government ordinances
The Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday (March 15) sent 133 ordinances issued during the tenure of the interim government to a special parliamentary committee for scrutiny.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman placed the proposal during the parliamentary session, which was presided over by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed (Bir Bikram).
The minister said the ordinances had already been presented in parliament and requested that they be referred to a special committee for detailed examination, asking the committee to submit its report by April 2.
The speaker then put the proposal to a voice vote in the House, which was approved by lawmakers, sending the ordinances to the committee for review.
Earlier, on March 12, the law minister had tabled the 133 ordinances issued during the interim government period at the first session of the 13th parliament.
