Special security plan in place for DUCSU polls: DMP DC

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Molla Azad has stated that a special security plan has been implemented for the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and hall union elections. He informed journalists of this on the university campus on Monday (September 8).

DC Azad said, "We have taken a special security plan centring on the DUCSU election. According to the plan, police have been deployed since 6:00am this morning."

He added, "For this, we expect the overall cooperation of the university's proctorial body and everyone. So far, we have not received any news of concerns regarding the election. However, we remain vigilant."

The voting for the DUCSU election will be held from 8:00am to 4:00pm tomorrow, Tuesday, at eight centres on the university premises. A total of 39,874 voters will cast their votes in this election. This year, 471 candidates are contesting for 28 positions in the central council.
