SSC re-scrutiny results out: 4,585 students pass, 3,079 gain GPA-5

The results of the re-scrutiny and re-evaluation of this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations were published on Thursday (September 10), with 4,585 students improving their results from fail to pass and another 3,079 securing GPA-5 for the first time.

The results were published at 10am on the websites of all 11 education boards. Applicants were also notified via SMS on their registered mobile numbers, while results are available through the official rescrutiny portal.

A total of 402,051 students applied for rescrutiny across the boards, seeking review of 1,287,926 answer scripts—1,056,455 written papers and 231,471 practical papers. Students were allowed to apply for multiple subjects.

This year’s review process marked a significant change from the previous system. For the first time, answer scripts submitted for rescrutiny were not only checked for errors in totaling or recording marks but were also re-evaluated, according to the Dhaka Education Board chairman and president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.

The highest number of applications came from the Dhaka Education Board, where 94,236 students sought review of 335,677 written and practical answer scripts.

The rescrutiny results came 31 days after the publication of the main SSC results on August 10. The original results recorded an average pass rate of 62.25 percent, the lowest in 19 years, prompting a record number of students to seek a review of their results.
