State Minister injured in accident brought to Dhaka
Public Administration and Food Minister Abdul Bari, who was injured in a road accident in Shibganj, Bogura, while travelling from Dhaka to his constituency Joypurhat-2 (Kalai-Khetlal-Akkelpur), has been brought to Dhaka for advanced medical treatment. His wife, Nazma Ara Begum, was also injured in the accident. A woman named Firoza Begum (55) was killed in the incident.
The accident occurred on Friday morning (September 4). After the accident, the state minister was given primary treatment in Kalai, before being admitted to Joypurhat 400-bed General Hospital.
Kalai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saidul Alam said the minister needed advanced treatment, so a decision was made to send him to Dhaka. His scheduled visit to the area was subsequently cancelled. He was sent to Dhaka by ambulance around 12:45pm on Friday.
Joypurhat 400-bed General Hospital Supervisor Dr Rashed Mobarak Jewel said the state minister suffered injuries to the sole of his right foot, left foot and chest. However, his condition is currently out of danger.
Nazma Ara Begum, wife of the state minister, was also injured in the accident. However, doctors said she is recovering.
Firoza Begum (55), who was taken to hospital injured in the accident, died while receiving treatment.
