State Minister Shama Obaed departs for Senegal on four-day official visit
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam has left Dhaka for a four-day official visit to Senegal, marking her first foreign trip since assuming office.
She departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday morning (April 18), according to officials.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mohammad Kamrul Islam Bhuiyan said the minister will attend the “Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security” scheduled to be held in the Senegalese capital from April 19 to 22.
The forum will bring together global and regional delegates to discuss issues related to peace, security, and emerging geopolitical challenges.
The minister is expected to return to Bangladesh on April 24 after completing the engagements, officials added.
