State ministers: Who gets which portfolio

The elected members of parliament of the BNP, which won an absolute victory in the 13th National Parliament elections, took oath on Tuesday (February 17) morning. The oath-taking of the new cabinet members was held at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building at 4 pm. A total of 24 state ministers took oath in the cabinet and the distribution of portfolios among them was finalized before the oath-taking.

Their list is given below:

Rashiduzzaman Millat
M Rashiduzzaman Millat, who won the Jamalpur-1 (Dewanganj–Baksiganj) constituency in the 13th National Parliament election, has received a call to join the Cabinet.

According to BNP sources, he is likely to be sworn in as a state minister for the ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

Anind Islam Amit

Anind Islam Amit got a call to join the Cabinet. He is likely to become the state minister for the ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

Shariful Alam

Shariful Alam, the newly elected MP from Kishoreganj-6, is set to become a state minister for the ministries of Commerce, Industries, Textiles and Jute.

Shama Obaid Islam

Shama Obaid Islam, the newly elected MP from Faridpur-2 constituency, is set to become a state minister for the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Sultan Salahuddin Tuku

Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, the newly elected MP from Tangail-5 constituency, is set to become a state minister for the ministries of Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock, and Food.

Kaiser Kamal

Kaiser Kamal is set to become the state minister for the Land Ministry. He was elected from Netrokona-1 (Kalamkanda-Durgapur) and is serving as a Member of Parliament for the first time.

Farhad Hossain Azad

Farhad Hossain Azad, elected from Panchagarh-2 (Boda and Debiganj) as a BNP candidate, is set to become a state minister for the ministry of Water Resources.

He serves as the Rural Development Affairs Secretary of the party's National Executive Committee and is the Member Secretary of the Panchagarh District BNP.

Aminul Haque (technocrat)

Aminul Haque got a call to join the Cabinet. He is likely to become a state minister for the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Md Helal Uddin

Md Helal Uddin got a call to join the Cabinet and is likely to become a state minister for the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs.

Habibur Rashid & Rajib Ahsan

Habibur Rashid, the elected MP from Dhaka-9 constituency and Rajib Ahsan, the elected MP from Barishal-4, are likely to become the state ministers for the ministries of Road Transport and Highways, Railway and Shipping.

Md Abdul Bari

Md Abdul Bari, the newly elected MP from Joypurhat-2, is set to become the state minister for the Ministry of Public Administration

Mir Shahe Alam

Mir Shahe Alam, the elected MP from Bogura-2, is set to become the state minister for the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.

Zonayed Saki

Zonayed Saki got a call to join the Cabinet division and is likely to become a state minister for the ministries of Finance and Planning.

Ishraque Hossain

Ishraque Hossain, BNP MP from Dhaka-6, got a call to join the new Cabinet. He is likely to join as the state minister for the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.

Farzana Sharmin

Farzana Sharmin, the newly elected Member of Parliament from Natore-1 (Lalpur-Bagatipara), has received a call to join the Cabinet.

She is set to become the state minister for the ministries of Social Welfare and for Women and Children Affairs.

Faridul Islam

Faridul Islam, the elected MP from Bagerhat-3, is set to become the state minister for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Nurul Haque Nur

Nurul Haque Nur, elected from Patuakhali-3 (Galachipa-Dashmina) in the 13th National Parliament election, is set to become the state minister for the Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment together.

Yeasir Khan Chowdhury

Yeasir Khan Chowdhury, the elected MP from Mymensingh-9, is set to become the state minister for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

M Iqbal Hossain

M Iqbal Hossain, elected from the Mymensingh-3 constituency, is set to become the state minister for the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

MA Muhit

M A Muhit, the elected MP from the Sirajganj -6 constituency, is set to become the state minister for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Ahammed Sohel Manjur

Ahammed Sohel Manjur, the elected MP from Pirojpur-2 constituency, is set to become the state minister for the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.

Boby Hajjaj

Bobby Hajjaj, the newly elected MP from Dhaka-13 constituency, is set to become the state minister for the ministries of Education and Primary and Mass Education.

Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam

Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam, the elected MP from the Rajbari-1 constituency, is set to become the state minister for the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
