The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast the possibility of thunderstorms with rain in two districts by Monday evening (March 30). Strong gusts of wind, reaching up to 60 km/h, may accompany the rain, the department said, urging river ports in the affected areas to display warning signals. The advisory, issued for inland river ports from 10:00 to 6:00pm, indicates that Rangamati and Sylhet could experience temporary squalls or gusty winds from the west or northwest at speeds of 45–60 km/h, along with rain or thunderstorm activity. Authorities have instructed the river ports in these districts to raise a Level-1 warning signal in response to the expected weather conditions.

সন্ধ্যার মধ্যে দেশের দুই জেলায় বজ্রসহ বৃষ্টিসহ ঝোড়ো আবহাওয়ার আশঙ্কা করেছে আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর। সংস্থাটি জানিয়েছে, এসব এলাকায় ঘণ্টায় সর্বোচ্চ ৬০ কিলোমিটার বেগে দমকা বা ঝোড়ো হাওয়া বয়ে যেতে পারে। এ পরিস্থিতিতে সংশ্লিষ্ট নদীবন্দরগুলোকে সতর্কসংকেত প্রদর্শনের নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে। সোমবার (৩০ মার্চ) সকাল ১০টা থেকে সন্ধ্যা ৬টা পর্যন্ত দেশের অভ্যন্তরীণ নদীবন্দরের জন্য দেওয়া পূর্বাভাসে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়। পূর্বাভাসে বলা হয়েছে, রাঙামাটি ও সিলেট অঞ্চলের ওপর দিয়ে পশ্চিম বা উত্তর-পশ্চিম দিক থেকে ঘণ্টায় ৪৫ থেকে ৬০ কিলোমিটার বেগে অস্থায়ীভাবে দমকা বা ঝোড়ো হাওয়াসহ বৃষ্টি কিংবা বজ্রসহ বৃষ্টি হতে পারে। এ কারণে এসব এলাকার নদীবন্দরগুলোকে ১ নম্বর সতর্কসংকেত দেখাতে বলা হয়েছে।
