Ayesha, an HSC candidate from a government college in Dhaka, missed her Bangla First Paper exam on Thursday (June 26) after rushing her mother, who suffered a sudden stroke, to the hospital.

After admitting her critically ill mother, Ayesha arrived at the Mirpur Bangla College exam center about an hour and a half late. She was not allowed to sit for the exam due to the delay.

The incident quickly gained attention on social media, sparking widespread sympathy and criticism over the lack of compassionate consideration in the education system.

In response, the Ministry of Education and the examination authorities have taken note of the situation. On Friday (June 27), Education Advisor CR Abrar stated that the issue is being reviewed seriously on humanitarian grounds. He assured that efforts are being made to resolve the matter in accordance with public examination rules.

"We are standing by the student in this difficult time. We ask her to remain calm and not to worry unnecessarily," he said.

Ayesha, who lost her father earlier, was her mother's only caregiver. The case has reopened public debate on the need for flexibility and empathy in exceptional circumstances within the education framework.
